This entry form is for maple syrup producers who want their product professionally tested and evaluated by certified grading specialists. Participants receive detailed feedback and the opportunity to be recognized as the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival Producer of the Year, with exclusive benefits at future festivals.

The maple syrup sample that tests the highest will be recognized as the Festival’s Producer of the Year. The 2026 Producer of the Year will have first right of refusal to supply the 2027 Festival with up to 500 liters of amber maple syrup to be used at the Festival’s pancake tent, price set at fair market value. The Producer of the Year will also be awarded two booths at the entrance to the 2027 Festival’s Outdoor Mall to market and sell their product on the day of the 2027 Festival.
The 2026 First Runner Up will be awarded the only syrup vendor location outside the Woolwich Memorial Centre at the 2027 Festival.
Having your maple syrup tested is easy. Here is what you need to know:
- The testing is for amber maple syrup only.
- Participants must be a maple syrup producer and hold membership in the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association.
- Participants must submit two (2) 250 ml samples of maple syrup in curved kent bottles with no labels or identifying features.
- Participants must submit a completed entry form (enclosed).
Maple syrup grading specialists will test the maple syrup submissions for density, clarity, colour, and flavour. The submission that tests the highest will be announced during the First Tree Tapping Ceremony on February 27, 2026.
All participants will receive a report from the maple syrup grading specialists about their maple syrup sample.
Entries must be submitted to the Township of Woolwich Administrative Office, 24 Church Street West, Elmira by February 13, 2026.
